Jubilee Insurance is this year celebrating its 80th birthday since its incorporation in 1937. To celebrate this milestone birthday, various projects that target communities within which Jubilee Insurance operates have been launched. The “Live Free” painting competition is one of the projects lined up to celebrate Jubilee Insurance’ 80th year and will be an avenue to encourage creativity in children and let the children express their understanding of freedom through artwork.
“LIVE FREE” PAINTING COMPETITION CONCEPT
“Live Free” Painting competition was an invitation to all government primary school children all over the country between the ages of 6-14 to submit paintings on what their depiction of “Live Free” is.
Entry Categories for competition:
The painting contest was entered in three categories based on the ages of the participating pupils as follows:
- 6 – 8 year olds – Class 1 to 3
- 9 – 10 year olds – Class 4 to 5
- 11-14 year olds – Class 6 to 8

So how do you pick which child wins, and which ones lose?
There are several criteria on which all art can be judged, even children’s art. For this article we will assume two dimensional art; drawings and paintings.

- Balance 10 mks
- Colors 10 mks
- Originality 10 mks
- Overall Presentation 10 mks
Total. 50 mks.
